About the event

A conversation rooted in resistance, memory, and community power.

La Plática is our annual political conversation that centers the voices and experiences of the Latinx and LGBTQ+ community. This year’s theme, Lessons from Our Histories, asks: What can we learn from past struggles and the journeys of some officials to fight back against the rise of political persecution today?

We’ll look at resistance movements from Latin America to the U.S.—from queer liberation to anti-authoritarian uprisings—and explore how people like us have always organized, resisted, and reclaimed power in the face of oppression.

Join us for an evening of real talk with community advocates and current elected officials who are keeping these stories alive and relevant. Let’s learn from the past to continue our mission for a freer, more just future.

What to Expect:

🗣️ Panel discussion and community dialogue
