About the event

Celebrate Latinx Pride with a powerful lineup of films that shine a light on queer Latinx stories, icons, and movements. The Latinx Film Festival brings together three unique films that explore art, activism, and the legacy of our comunidad—from Texas drag legends and AIDS trailblazers to the rise of queer Latinx organizing in LA.

Each screening will be followed by community conversation and reflection. Come for the films, enjoy some snacks and dinner together, and stay for the connection.

🎬 Film Schedule

4:30–5:30 PM – Barbette + Fontaine (2024)

A 14-minute tribute to queer legacy, this documentary follows the unexpected bond between 1920s drag trapeze artist Barbette and modern-day Texas drag queen Cynthia Lee Fontaine. Directed by John-Carlos Estrada and Zak Zeh, this film explores how art, identity, and resilience transcend time and gender. Stick around for a post-screening discussion with the creators and Fontaine herself.
